Selected from a very special lot in Leyda, this wine is made from the oldest plantings of Sauvignon Blanc in the region. The winemaking team always blind taste all their different lots to pick which one goes to barrel, and it always happens to be this same lot: 8B. The roots are so deep that they anticipate being able to dry harvest within the next couple of years.

Making cool climate varieties in Leyda, Garces Silva has a beautiful vineyard estate spreading over Leyda. Brands include Boya and Amayna and you can taste through Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah.

Boya, Pinot Noir

Prioritising fruit expression and ditching the new oak, Boya is a Garces Silva wine, but under a very different concept and winemaker. The consultant winemaker for Boya is Rafael Tirado, and although this is the ‘second’ line (cheaper in simple terms), it is likely to pull in a different crowd – those seeking brighter fruit expression and simple wines. A slightly earlier harvest date, and aged six months in old (3rd + uses) oak barrels.

Leyda was one of the first wineries to work in the Leyda region (hence why they got the name!) and their production always focuses on clean, fresh wines made from this cooler coastal climate. The winemaker Viviana Navarrete is one of Chile’s leading lady winemakers and consistently makes solid wines that deliver on price point and encapsulate Leyda in a bottle.
