Septima
A long winery made with beautiful big stones, Septima’s architecture is pretty memorable as is the terrace with a panoramic view of the mountains and vineyards. The name means seventh, as it is the seventh venture of the Codorníu Raventos group from Spain (renowned for cava production).
As you expect, there is plenty of fizz in their portfolio, but also a large collection of white and red wines made from their vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo and beyond.
The most striking thing about visiting Septima is its grandeur as you pull up the long driveway and the long strip of the winery gets bigger and bigger. Designed in a horizontal processing line, the grapes enter from the east and make their way through all the different processes to end up bottled and shipped out from the west. Handsome industrial design inside and a natural stone-built wall on the outside was left to the capable hands of local architects Bormida and Yanzon, and it is another landmark winery for them.
