Bodegas Graffigna is one of the most emblematic producers in San Juan and the winery has a history spanning over 145 years. The enterprise was founded by the Italian immigrant Santiago Graffigna who planted the first vineyard in San Juan in 1870 and was one of the big driving forces behind the construction of the railway which catalysed the winemaking boom in Mendoza.
Graffigna winery today produces wines of good value, especially their Syrah, and promising young winemaker Paula Gonzalez is in charge of winemaking. The bodega is one of the most popular in San Juan and its Santiago Graffigna Museum receives 18,000 visitors every year.
