Viña Alicia winery is the personal project of the Arizu family, who founded Luigi Bosca winery,  with vineyards in Lunlunta and Las Compuertas in Lujan de Cuyo and an assortment of old-vine varieties (some over 110 years old) including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Nebbiolo, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Albariño and Savagnin.

It was founded by Alicia Mateu Arizu (the wife of one of Argentina’s best-known winemakers, Alberto Arizu) in 1998 and is now run by son Rodrigo Arizu. Paso de Piedra is the second label, and in total the winery produces under 105,000 bottles a year.
