Best Wine Bars in Lima

La Gastronoma

Bringing the Italian slow food movement to Lima, Marco and Sabrina fell in love in Parma and decided to create their own dolce vita in Lima – opening a natural wine bar and artisan cheese shop. At La Gastronoma they import over 60 labels of natural wine from around Europe and Latin America and you can uncork a few bottles in their hip bar in Miraflores.

Laviniteca

An Italian outpost in Lima, Laviniteca was started by Italian expat Matteo with his friend, an Italian chef and expat, Leone. Together they run an excellent wine shop and import business, with over 400 labels in their cellar, and Leone serves up hearty Italian dishes to pair with the many wines you can open by the glass.

Literally translating as ‘on the corner’, this cornerside bar was the first wine bar to open in Lima and owner Lucho has been serving wine to a growing clientele for almost 20 years. An unpretentious and relaxed bar and bistro vibe with over 180 labels, and over 75 wines by the glass.

La Niña

This up-and-coming restaurant has one of the hottest wine lists in Lima, and innovative cuisine to book. Owner Andrés Orellana is that rare combination of being both a chef and sommelier, and so each discipline takes an equally important role in this lively Miraflores restaurant and bar. There are over 80 wines on the books and Andrés imports many labels himself. The cocktails are also sublime.

Central

Central is the restaurant everyone talks about from Lima, and it is deservedly renowned. Chef Virgilio Martínez recreates dishes from Peru’s Amazon, altiplano and coast in a creative and delicious tasting menu. Maido

An unmissable experience in Lima is eating Nikkei cuisine – a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine – and Maido is the best place to do that. With a worldclass tasting menu, as you’d expect the wine list is pretty rocking too. The wine list is quite international, but there are a few gems from Latin America also worth discovering on it.
