Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting notes for Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon, Chilean wine guide

Deep ruby

Deliciously concentrated blackcurrant liqueur and plum aromas, with white pepper, eucalyptus and liquorice. Oaky notes of vanilla, chocolate and black coffee add more depth.

A rich, comforting red, packed with black fruit, spice and chocolate. Bright acidity and grip on the full finish.

This is a big wine just bursting to be paired with red meat or hearty vegetarian casseroles.

2015 vintage.

88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah and 4% Cabernet Franc

14.5% alcohol

The Cabernet Sauvignon is from non-irrigated, 80-year-old vines in the Apalta Valley. The wine was made with native yeasts. 80% of the wine was aged 14 months in French oak barrels. Not stabilized or clarified; just light filtration.
