On the backpacker cycle route, Tempus Alba winery is a modern property set among the old vineyard region of Maipú. Popular for its drop-in visits and self-guided, free walk-through tours, there is also a sun trap restaurant on the terrace overlooking the vines.
Tempus Alba is a budget-friendly winery to visit with many more accessible lines and a restaurant serving simple fayre. It is mainly reds here with just a Malbec Rose and Sauvignon Blanc as relief, and the winery produces classic Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Merlot, Tempranillo and Syrah. The real star wine that the small winery has been working towards over the last decade is their clonal selection project of Malbec vines, which has resulted in the rather good Tempus Vero Malbec.
