You might have heard about the Premium Tasting in Argentina, and for the first time since its creation in Mendoza in 2011 – it is going to be held Chile!
After previous editions in Mendoza, Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo, the event is having its inaugural edition in Santiago, this time showcasing the best wines on offer in Chile today. The tasting, which is hotly attended by winemakers, press and experts, has at the heart of its concept ‘premium wines’ as decided by the best critics scores in recent years. All wines tasted are over 92 points by Robert Parker and Wine Spectator, or ‘outstanding’ or ‘highly recommended’ according to Decanter.
A blind tasting of 30 top wines from Chile will be conducted by Master of Wine and recognised sommelier Hector Vergara alongside journalist Patricio Tapia, as the 350-strong audience can taste each wine based on sensorial appreciation alone. The wines are then revealed and each winemaker speaks about their wine in front of the audience to complete the flight.
