J Bouchon, Granito Semillon
A straw gold in colour and, if I’m being romantic, like sitting in a straw field at sunset (which I’d like to do with this wine)
A delicate and nuanced nose of waxy Meyer lemon with meadow herbs and flowers. There’s also a slightly flinty note with a slightly nutty complexity.
This is an intense and concentrated white wine, coming from the age of the vines and the deep granite soils, with citrus aromatics in the palate, and a long, fresh and energizing finish with slightly saline, mineral notes.
I’d happily drink a bottle of this to myself to be honest. But if I must share it, it would be over lightly grilled scallops drizzled in truffle oil with a dusting of lemon zest and flaked sea salt and cracked black pepper.

13.5 abv; 6.9 total acidity; 1 gr/litre residual sugar
