Sierras de Bellavista

One of Chile’s highest altitude mountain vineyards, Sierras de Bellavista is an exciting boutique producer of Riesling, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Colchagua Andes. Chilean winemaker Camilo Rahmer started the project with a Chilean businessman Jacques Ergas in 2011.

They both had weekend homes in a mountain village called Sierras de Bellavista, and Camilo had fantasized about planting vines there one day. Jacques was equally as enthusiastic and together they now have 4.5 hectares of vines planted on a hilltop vineyard which overlooks the snowy Andes mountains. Altitude ranges from 1100m up to just over 1200m and this cool climate is extremely marginal, with a frequent risk of frost and even Spring snow! The result, however, is worth the risk: electric acidity and delicate aromatics.
