About Viña Von Siebenthal
About Viña Von Siebenthal
This handsome boutique winery in the heart of Aconcagua was the dream of Swiss wine lover and lawyer Mauro Von Siebenthal. In 1998, he swapped his court suit for winemaker boots and began his family winery in Panquehue. With a Bordeaux chateaux philosophy, Mauro makes estate wines with a strong focus on hearty red blends.
The winery is completely self-sustainable generating its own solar power with solar panels located behind the winery. It has an annual capacity of 400.000 kWh and completely covers the electrical requirements of the house, winery, and irrigation. Von Siebenthal also practices organic viticulture.
About the Von Siebenthal vineyards
In the heart of Panquehue in Aconcagua valley, the vineyards of Von Siebenthal are all estate owned and surround the winery. A wide thermal amplitude allows for sunny and warm days with cool nights, and the climate is dry Mediterranean. The soil profile is clay-lime with some granite parcels. Drip irrigation is required in this semi-arid region, and comes from rivers from the Andes mountains.
Von Siebenthal has Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Viognier planted with vine ages ranging up to 25 years.
