Proemio winery in Mendoza is based in Guaymallén but has grapes from Luján, Maipú and the Uco Valley. ‘Proemio’ means ‘prologue’ in old Medieval Spanish, which is why the winery’s name stands for ‘kick-start’ or ‘first page’. The winery was founded in 2001 by third-generation winemaker and descendant of a traditional Italian immigrant family, Marcelo Bocardo.
Proemio winery produces a range of red blends, as well as single varietal red wines and Chardonnay.
