Armidita is a prolific estate and winery in Huasco which was first planted in 1873 with 250 hectares of vines. Today sisters Sandra and Cecilia make a deliciously sweet pajarete wine from old vines of Moscatel, which are made conserving some of the traditional artisan techniques of sun-drying the grapes under the desert sun.
Wildmakers is the wine production of Chilean winemakers José Miguel Sotomayor and Luca Hodgkinson who work with small growers, vineyards and winery locations around Colchagua and beyond. Sourcing out interesting old vines and making native ferment wines is their jam.
Plop! is the brand and garage winery project of Manuel Michelini, a young winemaker who released his first vintage at 19 years old. The wines almost always come from Tupungato vineyards in the Uco Valley but each vintage changes from bright and crunchy rosé made from Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon, red blends or the electrifying skin contact Semillon.
Bocanada wines are made by young garage winemaker Leandro Boullaude in the Uco Valley in Mendoza. The first vintage was released from the winery in 2015 and Leandro makes Malbec and a Malbec-Cabernet Sauvignon – Merlot blend from vineyards in San Pablo in Tupungato.
