Familia Bresesti
Like many stories here in Uruguay, this wine story started with an Italian family that began making wine. Buying from different small producers in Canelones, they formed Familia Bresesti winery in 1937 with table wines and then in 1992 bought some vineyards and started working towards fine wine.
They still make mainly table wine but also dedicated to making a fine wine for their winery working with particular parcels in the vineyard. Their total production is 95% table wine, but now they have their star – Tannat Premium. The young winemaker Bruno Bresesti is passionate about making a standout wine from their old vines and from the first harvest they made 3000 litres of Tannat which has a good concentration and nice acidity to accompany a hearty meal.
