Anchoita: haven for foodies and wine lovers
If there were one place I would pick to drink wine in Buenos Aires, it would be Anchoita. The only snag is that it’s practically impossible to get a table… this restaurant books up months in advance, and with good reason. It’s insanely delicious. Owner and chef Enrique Piñeyro is a master in the kitchen, and sommelier Valeria Mortara has some killer choices on the wine list, including Argentina’s best range of Sherries from Jerez. If you do get a table, order the chipa immediately! In fact, order two.
You might have more luck getting a table at the wine bar and cheese bar next door, although also come early as this place also fills up. But the artisanal cheese and fantastic wine list is worth the wait too.

Naranjo
This hip wine bar in Chacarita celebrates orange and skin contact wines but has an impressive range of white, red and bubbles too. Mainly focused on niche and small-scale producers, it has the wines of harder-to-find bottles including Mariana Onofri, Los Astronautes and Pintom.
The wine is one of the main attractions, but so is the food. An array of bites and small dishes are ideal for sharing, and the prices here are some of the most reasonable in BA.
