Vinhos Maria Maria winery and vineyard was started in 2009 by Eduardo Junqueira Nogueira, a fifth-generation coffee grower, after his doctor ordered him to drink a glass of wine a day while he was recovering from a heart attack. He has taken his passion for wine well beyond the doctor’s orders and today Vinhos Maria Maria a range of white, red, rose and sparkling wines from the Serra da Mantiqueira region.
