More about the wine
This Cabernet Sauvignon has always been San Pedro’s top wine and it has improved greatly over the last few years. The current release, the 2017 vintage, is the best Cabo de Hornos I’ve ever tried. With layers of cassis, blackcurrant leaf, graphite and black pepper, it’s complex and powerful (15.5%!) yet wonderfully balanced, with a long, smooth finish.
More about the winery
AltaĂ¯r wine and winery is the fine wine arm of Viña San Pedro making complex and full-bodied red wines from Cachapoal Andes. AltaĂ¯r is the top wine and Sideral is their second-label, but just as complex and ageworthy. You can visit the winery in Cachapoal for a tasting and even stay for lunch.
