Pachawines is a promising new project by renowned Chilean winemaker Claudio Barría (who helped resuscitate old vines in Chile’s Itata region). Here he is working with small, organic producers across Peru to make a terroir series of Criolla wines.

Apu winery and vineyard is the highest altitude wine production in Peru to date. In Curahuasi (120km from Cusco), the vineyards range from 2,850 to 3,300 meters above sea level.
Here the wines are produced with a winter harvest and acidity is sharp and bright. Apu has Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese planted to date.
Bernardo Roca Rey is the patron of Vino de Arenas – an innovative wine project planting vines in Ica’s coastal desert. The Vinos de Arena and Bodega Roca Rey winery and wine production is under the hand of female Peruvian winemaker Lyris Monasterio.
