Guide to wineries in the north of Argentina: wineries in Salta, Catamarca, Jujuy and Tucumán including the subregions of Cafayate and Quebrada de Humahuaca
Viñas del Perchel winery is a family-run business situated at an altitude of 2,650 metres above sea level in Jujuy’s Quebrada de Humahuaca wine region. Planting vineyards in such a remote location has resulted in an interesting portfolio of wines which includes Runa, an intense Malbec and Syrah blend as well as a single-variety Tannat called Cactus.
During your visit to the winery, look out for the colourful mural of a grape picker reaching for the stars. The winery is planning on building a new bodega further up the mountain in the near future in order to receive more tourists.
