Ferreira winery is a new and growing wine production using umbrella technique (covering its vines from rainfall) on the border between São Paulo and Minas Gerais in Brazil. The 8 hectare vineyard is located at 1,650 metres altitude and protects its vines from the heavier summer rainfalls with plastic netting as designed by Rodrigo Veraldi Ismael from Entre Villas.
Deep red soils offer good drainage in this high altitude wine region and the first vintages of these wines show promise. Although you’ll have to visit the winery to be able to taste them – they are a sell out in their popular winery restaurant.
